Seismic Damage Semantics on Post-Earthquake LOD3 Building Models Generated by UAS

In a post-earthquake scenario, the semantic enrichment of 3D building models with seismic damage is crucial from perspective disaster management. This paper aims to present methodology and results for Level Detail 3 (LOD3) modelling (after an earthquake) semantics based on European Macroseismic Scale (EMS-98). The study area Vrisa traditional settlement island Lesvos, Greece, which was affected by devastating earthquake Mw = 6.3 12 June 2017. applied consists following steps: (a) unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) nadir oblique images are acquired photogrammetrically processed point cloud generation, (b) created clouds (c) transformed into LOD3 City Geography Markup Language (CityGML) standard enriched related every part (walls, roof, etc.). show that in this methodology, CityGML can be generated buildings’ damage. These assist decision-making process during recovery phase as well basis its monitoring over time. Finally, these contribute estimation reconstruction cost buildings.
